"The Illustrated History of Britain's Best-Loved Family" This is a biography of the appearance of the family in the Giles cartoons. It includes "over 150 of Giles' favourite cartoons" and numerous photographs.
1993 Carl Giles: 50 Years at the Daily Express - Cartoon Art Trust 51 In 1993 the Cartoon Art Trust had their first exhibition, which was of Giles' work. This book was produced and used as the catalogue for the exhibition. It is in the format of a Giles Annual, using the covers from the 31st Annual. Contains a survey of the work Giles had produced while at the Express.
1993 Giles at War - Peter Tory ? A biography of Giles during the war years. He was working for Reynolds News during the blitz. With The Express he saw active service as a cartoonist after D-Day as the British army moved across France, Holland and Germany. He was with the Coldstream Guards when they liberated Belsen.
1993 Sunday Express Magazine 16.2.1986 ? There is a five-page feature on Carl Giles - his life and work methods, etc.
1995 The Ultimate Giles - Peter Tory ? A biography of Giles, plus tributes and anecdotes from some of his friends and admirers.
1999 Grandma - Robert Beaumont ? "The biography of Giles's infamous Cartoon Character" This biography chronicles the provenance of the fearsome old bat, Grandma. Shows how Carl Giles developed the handbag-wielding matriarch over the years into a feisty, stout battler.
